David finished 6th and 4th in rounds 13 and 14 respectively, once again just missing that elusive podium in both races.

In first qualifying David claimed the 6th fastest time just before the session was red flagged and finished prematurely due to an accident involving Laine.  David was disappointed with 6th place as he was on a faster lap when he was blocked resulting in him having to abandon the lap just before the red flag came out. Once again David was on the pace in the second qualifying and posted the 5th fastest lap.

Race one saw David start 6th, however 5th place driver Laine was not on the grid to start the race after his accident in qualifying one. A great start from David put him right on the tail of fourth place Webb. On the same lap David made a move up the inside into Bomb-Hole corner after a great exit out of the Esses. David was then chasing down third place when unfortunately two laps later on the entry into Bomb-Hole corner David clipped some cement powder that had been put down to cover some oil from the previous race. This caused the Surrey driver to run out over the kerb and dropped him down to 7th  place. David quickly caught back up to the 6th place driver and passed him going into the Esses with a late braking move. David had good pace throughout the race being only a tenth of a second off the fastest lap and was catching the cars in front but unfortunately his tyres started to go off on the final few laps, so the Surrey ace had to settle for 6th.

David started race two in grid position 5. Once again David had a great start and jumped Championship leader Webb off the line putting him ahead by the first corner.  After initially having to defend his 4th position David made a gap on Webb and was in the hunt for 3rd place Calado when the safety car was deployed following an incident at the Esses.  After four laps behind the safety car the race got on it's way again.  Another attempt from Webb caused David to defend increasing the gap to Calado. Once again David soon built a gap from Webb but unfortunately he was unable to catch Calado and could only maintain the gap for the rest of the race.  The race was red flagged three laps from the end due to an incident leaving another car on the side of the track. Despite having to defend from Webb on several occasions David finished a comfortable 4th. David once again had the pace in race two, being just one tenth of a second off the fastest lap.

Commenting on a positive weekend David said; "We have had a positive weekend at Snetterton. The key was getting qualifying right so I was at the front in both races. In qualifying one I felt I could have been a bit higher because I was blocked on my fastest lap but generally I felt we had good pace in both sessions. Race one was a little bit disappointing because I managed to get up to fourth but I unfortunately touched the cement powder at Bomb-Hole and it just took my rear away from me going into the corner dragging me out over the exit kerb. However it could have been a lot worse.

I had another great start in race two and was straight up to fourth which I kept till the end. I was only a tenth off the fastest lap in both races, so we definitely had the pace to be in the top three in both races so I have to take that as a positive when looking towards the rest of the season."

Over the weekend as a mark of respect to the late Henry Surtees, Manor Competition, his former Formula Renault UK team competed at Snetterton with a commemorative decal on the nose cone of each of its cars in remembrance of the talented teenager who tragically lost his life in a Formula 2 event at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago.

Rounds 15 and 16 of the Formula Renault UK Championship take place at Silverstone on the 29th and 30th August.
