Official testing continued at Silverstone on the 24th and 25th March. The first day being on the national circuit, which takes two corners from the full GP circuit but is cut short after Maggots and rejoins the GP circuit at Brooklands. A short (1.639 miles) but very challenging circuit. Day two was held on the full Silverstone Grand Prix circuit (3.194 miles), a very fast and flowing circuit. Day one on the national circuit went well for David, as he reminded himself of the circuit in the morning session, having not been there since 2007. Throughout the day David progressed well and was in good shape, considering the tyres he was on had already done a lot of mileage. In the last session of the day, David decided to use new tyres along with most of the field, he set the sixth fastest time of the day and was only three tenths off the quickest.

David said; " Silverstone national went quite well. In the morning I was getting used to the track again since I have not been here since 2007 in the BARC. We decided to use new tyres at the end of the day, because we had a very good pace on old tyres, I was a little disappointed with sixth to be honest because I did not put my best two sectors together and was losing a bit of time at Brooklands. However I still feel the day went well and am looking forward to tomorrows test on the GP circuit."

Day two of the Silverstone official test on the GP circuit was again another positive day for David. In the morning he was 8th quickest again on old tyres, as David and the team are conserving tyres for later in the year. David was looking forward to a new tyre run in the afternoon, where the return in new tyres can be massive; however rain over the lunch period meant that both afternoon sessions were wet. In the first session David had new parts to bed in and was learning the wet lines. In the second session he only managed to complete three laps all together due to red flags, so was unable to set a time.

David commented; "We were once again looking strong in the morning on old tyres and I learnt a lot from the first two sessions and was really looking forward to improving in the afternoon, but did not get a chance to due to the rain. In the wet I had some new parts to bed in and there were a lot of red flags so I think I only got about three laps in one of the sessions."

Looking towards the first round at Brand Hatch David said; " I am looking forward to the start of the season, we have shown good pace to be at the front and have made good progress in the last few tests. I am confident for a very good year."

The first round of the 2009 Formula Renault UK championship is held at Brands Hatch (Indy) on the 4th/5th April.
