Round 5 of the Michelin Le Mans Cup took place at the stunning Mugello circuit, nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Despite showing strong pace during testing, the race presented a series of challenges for David and his team.
A drive-through penalty, combined with contact during the opening stint, made for a tough race when David jumped in for his stint behind the wheel of the Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage GT3. On top of that, still recovering from his recent back injury, David struggled to fully capitalise on his potential. The #91 duo of David and team mate Claude Bovet eventually finished in 9th place.
Looking ahead, the team is now focusing on the final round of the season at Portimão next month, where David is determined to be back at full strength and end the season on a high note.
